spanishjesus- the first time i heard lily allen was when i saw her video for smile on mtv. The first time I heard the chorus I was like, "what a politefully, cheery way to be a bitch.", but after I heard the whole song I understood it more, liked it, and bought her cd.

frogman - I first heard Lily when my friend brought me to a show where she sang. I hadn't heard her at all, but my friend was all, "omg, you will LOVE her, she's so cool." I acted all cool because I didn't know the songs but by the time the show was over, I had to agree with my friend. Ever since then, i've beeen a fan!

chris - One of our best friends who is a music whore (can I say that?) surpised us one Sunday evening by bringing over Ms. Allen's cd. Let me just say that preparing dinner that night accompanied by Lily's voice was delicious. She reminds me of so many other artists but somehow she is unique and sets herself apart. To lily...

the first time i heard lily allen i was waiting for the bus and i turned on my t.v and it was on imf and her music video smile i have benn a lily fan since :)

As an American, I didn't know of her until January of this year, when she first started to hit the U.S. market. I was watching MTV one day and saw a snippet of her music video at the end of a program and I was just awestruck by not only just how fun the song was, but how pretty she was. I can't really explain it, but the moment I heard that song, something changed inside me. I downloaded her music and I just couldn't stop listening to it. I could go on forever, because it is a long story, but put it very simply, to this day, I cannot get tired of Lily's music. There is something about it that makes it sound so new and refreshing every time. Its a gift from God and definitely one of the best things that ever happened to me. Then I went to one of her concerts and that just sealed the deal. I love you, Lily.

Heard her on myspace in early 2005, and then sneaked in (I was only 16 so underage!) to her album launch at a club in Brighton. It was here first gig since the Album release and she thought it was funny how me and my friend already knew all the words! I though she was just going to be a bit of an underground artist! Met her twice since then and been to three gigs! Won tickets to two of them and was backstage at one. Just realised this is going to come across weird, I'm really not a stalkerish fan, I just go to alot of gigs generally and tend to have good luck in ticket competitions/talking my way into things! well the first time i heard of lily allen was through a friend. he told me he was 'obsessed' with her. i really didn't undersatnd why and i didn't bother to listen to her, considering he likes such musci like radiohead and im more of a weezer fan. but after a while, i borrowed a cd of his and i realized lily allen was not at all like radiohead. i love her, i'll always lover her. and she is absolutely better than amy winehouse.

AngelaB: I got my first Lily earful right after stumbling on this site! "smile" made me smile and I've been hooked ever since. Hurry up with the new album already!

I'm also from america, my mom likes some of the music from today. One day I was at the electronic store, and I saw that my mom recently purchased a new cd. So I was like great, my mom is buying more of the really bad music of today, Then I noticed her playing it alot, an I ignored it for the most part. But the one day I actually was listening to it, (smile was playing) and I thought it sounded pretty good. I work at a grocery store, and had to collect the shopping carts from the parking lot. So I was singing that song to myself, and from then on I knew I found my favorite singer.

I first saw her on MTV (dutch MTV, I'm from Holland) I thought : oh my god, this is so good! I've bought her album and I listen to it every day : It's the best album I've ever bought!

I was watching MTV at like 4 am and i saw the Smile video and fell in love with her style of music. then i saw her live and was very pleased :) Thank Lily

Along with a few other people above me, I was watching MTV at like 2AM in the morning and right as I was about to go to bed the Smile video came on and I instantly fell in love with her. I went and bought her song the very next day.
